DID YOU KNOW Rakesh Roshan Had To Mortgage House, Car To Launch Son Hrithik Roshan In Rs 3 Crore Made Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai?
Bollywood’s Greek God Hrithik Roshan is an actor par excellence and there is no denying that. He made an impressive Bollywood debut with his father Rakesh Roshan’s directed film ‘Kaho Naa...Pyaar Hai’ -which was a big hit at the box office. The 2000 released romantic drama launched the careers of both Hrithik and Ameesha Patel in the industry. But did you know Rakesh had mortgaged his house and car to launch his son?

Yes, you read that right! In an old interview, the War actor had made this shocking revelation. He told BBC that KNPH’s budget was over whopping Rs 3 crores and this was a huge amount back in those days so his house and car were mortgaged to make the film. Hrithik had said, “The film was about three crore over budget, the house was mortgaged, the car was mortgaged. But I didn’t know about it, the last time it happened was when he was making his first film, Khudgarz, his home production, which he directed himself. He had to do that and he had to do it to launch his son, and both times it worked out.” ALSO READ: Hrithik Roshan Is Moving In With His Girlfriend Saba Azad In Rs 100 Crore Luxury Apartment? The 48-year-old actor also confessed how initially he was not convinced with his parts written in the film. Hrithik mentioned after reading the script, he asked his father how he would show people he could do other things as well than laughing, dancing, and wearing good clothes. “He said, ‘I am making a movie, you wanna act in it then do, don’t tell me how to make films. I am not making the film to launch you,” the actor explained.

‘Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai’ which saw Hrithik in the double role, become the second-highest-grossing film of 2000. While Rakesh Roshan received his first-ever Filmfare Award as director and producer, Hrithik became the only actor ever to win both the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and the Filmfare Award for Best Debut for the same film.
